KATHERYN LOTT, AIA

ARCHITECT – PARAMOUNT THEATRE

100th Anniversary Countdown Paramount Theatre Continued!

Katheryn Lott, AIA, a graduate of the School of Architecture at UT and a member of Texas Society of Architects among many other professional affiliations, played an important role in the initial phase of the restoration of the Paramount in the 1970’s.

As a member of 3D International, a worldwide architectural firm, she worked with colleague Tom Russell, project architect to the Paramount. Tom sent Katheryn over to take notes on one of a thousand details for the restoration. Having met for hours with other architects who never took notes of the program I was giving them, I asked her upon arrival in my office, “Did you bring a pad and pencil?” That was the last time I thought about her taking notes.

3D International gave us a great team of professionals. David Hoffman, restoration architect specialist, took the ball over the goal line for the remaining phases of the restoration process which concluded in the Fall of 1980. Katheryn brought friendship, talent and spirit to Austin’s crown jewel and to all of us at theatre.

Thank you, Katheryn, for all that you did, both professionally and as a true believer in those early days!!!
